Code of Conduct
*NOTE: These Guidelines are to be applied IN ADDITION to the OOC Guidelines of the Cos RP Groups as listed on the Isle website.
1. All players must be 18 years of age or older. No exceptions. Anyone found to be a minor will be expelled from the Role Play of the City of Temos, and the offending SN will be forwarded to those in charge on the Isle of Cos as well as the journalists of Gor in general. No characters that are under the RP age of 18 years will be involved in any form of storyline that has even a hint of sexual connotation. Free men will gain their first slaves and companions, free women will gain their first slaves and companions, and slaves will be red silk ONLY after the charater turns 18. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Anyone found breaking this rule will be expelled from the RP of Cos and Temos IMMEDIATELY.
2. This is fantasy, but try to role-play as realistically as possible. If it requires travel, then role-play it out. Don't just appear one moment in the City of Temos, then the next at the falls. You can speed up the travel, of course, but role-play it all out, there are no teleportation devices on Gor.
3. Please pay attention to the roleplay in the room. If someone rp's being in the Inn's kitchen and you're in the main sitting room, unless your screaming, there would be no way you could know what is going on in that kitchen IC. The walls were not made of glass and there were no intercom systems.
4. Keep out of character posts in the chat rooms to a minimum. ( "Back, bk, wb, yw, ty" etc just interrupt the flow of play. A simple AFK or BRB will suffice then when you return, simply post action. Most of the players are smart enough to now that the afk player has returned) Just role play out the situation with the characters without instant messaging the other players with whining or complaining. If you don't understand a situation that your character is involved in, it is acceptable to instant message to clarify.
5. Do not use thoughts as a means to insult the mun of the char you're interacting with. This can be difficult, and we have all done it at least one time in our tenure here. Do not use thought bubbles as a means to read minds. The exception to this rule is if you are a slave and your owner looks into your eyes. In actuality this is played as an action bubble, just keep it positive and creative. Keep in mind also that there are many styles of roleplay. Each person in the group is different; respect that.
6. Keep mun players out of the storyline as much as possible. Role-play your character. If you do not like the way a character acts, then role-play your reactions to it, but don't start a feud between players. Please do not mix your character with your player, they are two separate entities. If a character has a bad reaction to your's, role-play it out. Don't start messaging everyone in the group about how terrible that person is. Don't destroy their character or their mun's good name. Some characters are played with attitudes, prejudices, and histories that require them to have a negative reaction to certain situations.
7. If you have a problem with a player, then talk to them and try to resolve it. If you are unable to resolve it yourselves, then scroll the Administrator. If you can't resolve it with the Administrator's help, take it to the Ubar. Sometimes the situations are simple misunderstandings, and a resolution can quickly be reached with the help of a third party. No matter what the issue, DO NOT bring it into the role-play. OOC wrangling of the City of Temos's storylines will NOT be tolerated.
8. Once you play something in a storyline, you are accepting that storyline. We do not seek consent on every storyline in our group. Role-play how your character would deal with it and move on. Also, do not START a SL that you don't intend on finishing. Too many times people have come to Temos, started a SL, then screamed foul and mun consent when they got exactly what they deserved. ANYONE found doing this will be immediately placed on ignore in the City of Temos.
9. Remember that this should be enjoyable for everyone. Men, women, and kajirae are all part of this City and will be included in the storylines. Every player has input on the storylines. No one will be ignored and all players are expected to interact with everyone in the City on some level. Do not block those of the City from being able to see you online unless you absolutely have to. Can't participate in the SL if no one knows you're online. Do not use your mun feelings against the muns of others to affect your Characters' interactions. Be adult or be gone. Do not take all the attention and intentionally overplay everyone in the room. The joy in this game is the interaction with others. We are all important to the City. Characters have rank, status, and roles, and we will acknowledge that but the players are all equal.
10. ANY member found using OOC knowledge against another player for malicious purposes will be immediately removed from the Temos roleplay group. Temos will NOT be the breeding ground for backbiting and mun attempts to destroy the SLs of others. This law includes profiles. No "I hate this person, I hate that person" crap. This rule is very simple. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND STAY OUT OF EVERYONE ELSE'S! End of Story.
11. ANY member found crossing IC and OOC will be immediately banned from the group.
12. ANY member found harassing or being abusive to other players in IMs or Emails will be immediately banned from the group. There is a way to argue and a way to fight, and when someone shuts the conversation down, that should be the end of it. Anyone who continues to harass after being asked to cease will be expelled.
13. While only one character is preferable and the desired course of action, NO member of the group may have more than two (2) PC'd characters on the Island of Cos at one time. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be asked to pick the character that leaves the group.
14. No Restore/Delete characters will be allowed. If something comes up and you have to delete your character, let the Ubar, your City's Administrator, and the En'scribes of your City and Cos know so that you can be taken off of the mail strings. Any character that remains deleted for three (3) months will be considered, for RP purposes, dead. It will be up to the master of any slave that deletes if the three month rule applies, or if the slave is to be listed as dead immediately.
15. No Child Characters will be munned that are under the age of 12. Period.
16. No Animal Characters will be munned on the Isle of Cos. Period. NPCed animals are allowed.
17. Slave muns: If your character is serving and the Master/Mistress goes AFK or does not type into the room for 10 minutes, move on. There is no reason for the rest of the room to be denied service because the Master/Mistress mun is not active in the chat room.
20. This is a group created and maintained for enjoyable role-playing. If you like it, then we are happy to have you with us. However, if you don't, there are other places on America Online to find what you are looking for. It is what we make it, let's make it a great group with great storylines!
