Laws for Free Women

1. Enslaving or face-stripping a free woman of the City of Temos is considered a serious crime. No free woman of the City of Temos will be enslaved without a public trial in which she will have the opportunity to present defense of her actions. Free women of Temos can only be enslaved for the breaking of the laws listed subsequently.
2. In the City of Temos, robes of concealment and veils are required at all times for all Free Women with the exception of those performing laborious caste work or those whose Torvaldsland or Plains customs require traditional attire. Free women are permitted to wear robes of lightweight fabric, and veils are required any time the woman is outside her private quarters. However all citizens of Cos, regardless of heritage, are required to dress in appropriate attire.
3. Any free woman found committing the following crimes in the City of Temos will be taken into custody by the City Guards until a trial can be held to determine the woman's of suitability for the collar :: fraud, theft, vagrancy, prostitution, public drunkenness, becoming indigent, garbing themselves as a slave, spying on Masters with their slaves, garbing themselves as a man, dancing sensually, drinking uncut wine, lingering on the street of brands, exhibiting a fascination with bondage, baring too much flesh, repeatedly placing herself into situations where she could end up enslaved, and/or other shameful behavior as determined by the person bringing charges. If the woman is found guilty, she will be reduced to slavery and given to the person who accused her or publicly sold.
4. Any free woman in the City of Temos who cannot pay her debts may be enslaved. If a man chooses to pay her debts for her, she will become legally endebted to him, and if he so chooses, may enslave her. If the woman can find no one to pay her debts, she will be enslaved by the City and publicly auctioned. The proceeds of her auction will be used to pay her creditors.
5. Any free woman of the City of Temos who couches with a male slave, or prepares to couch with a male slave, will legally be put to the collar of the male slave's owner. This law does not apply if the male slave is legally owned by the free woman.
6. Any free woman who willingly submits herself to a man, even in private, and is refused her submission, becomes immediately subject to the collar of the first free person who wishes to enslave her. This enslavement is irrevocable and irreversible.
7. Any free woman of the City of Temos may legally sell herself into slavery. Great consideration should be placed into this decision because once the transaction has been completed, it is irrevocable.
8. If a free woman kneels before a man in the manner of a slave, or calls him Master, she has reduced herself to legal enslavement and is subject to all of its implications. This law does not apply to the private interactions that occur behind the closed doors of a joined couple, as long as the interactions remain behind closed doors. If the interactions become public knowledge, then the free woman is subject to all said implications, up to and including enslavement.
9. Within the walls and territories of the City of Temos, all free women are to be accompanied by a proper escort. It is illegal do go without proper guards.(The woman should have at least two guards or kinsmen with her when in public. One guard shall run interference if an attack is made and the other guard will remove the free woman from danger. I.E: Leave the chat room).
10. No free woman of the City of Temos will leave the City or its territories without an escort that befits her social status.
11. Free women of the City of Temos may freely engage in all caste training and work. Exceptions to this law include: the castes that bar female participation, such as the Warriors, Metal Workers, Slavers, Fishermen, Players and Animal Handlers, et al, and the women who claim the Caste of Physicians. Women of the Physician's caste will not be allowed to not fully run a practice or work on her own until she has borne two children. At the age of fifteen, free women of the Physician's caste must don two bracelets on their left wrists, only removing one after the birth of each child.
12. Unless a free woman has exhibited the qualities desired to be a suitable candidate for raising caste, she will be considered a member of her father's caste until she is joined in free companionship. Once she is joined, the free woman may elect to assume the caste of her companion, or retain her own.
13. Any free woman showing her ankle(s) or feet in the presence of free men is risking a collar.
